Indications and Usage: Oxytocin (OT) is a uterotonic drug that can be extracted from the posterior pituitary of animals or chemically synthesized.
Oxytocin is a uterotonic drug that is mostly used for induction of labor in late pregnancy and delayed labor caused by uterine weakness. It is suitable for induction of labor and analgesia. It is often used in combination with ergot preparations for induction of labor, induction of labor, uterine bleeding or stillbirth caused by postpartum uterine weakness. Nasal drops can be used for lactation.
